SPECIAL GUEST
The Geelong Post-Junk project, Special Guest, formed in 2024 under “surreal” circumstances, “far beyond the realm of an ordinary musical collaboration” (Beat Magazine). An amalgamation of both post-punk and noise-rock - coined by the group as "Post Junk"- their artistry is an enticing array of hyper-melodic guitar, tightly wound percussion and theatrical vocals accompanied by unwavering synth glitches.
Following their debut show at the Tote supporting Bench Press alongside Screensaver and The Maggie Pills, Special Guest were quick to feature in Beat Magazine – who described them as “unexpected, raw, and a little chaotic”. Enmeshed in a seemingly unnecessary) alure mystery, Special Guest’s iconography and sound attracts many and confuses even more.
